Licensed Practical Nurse- LPN
Our client, a growing and well established orthopedic practice needs a LPN. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides clinical and documentation support within a specialty orthopedic practice. This role is primarily responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant charting of patient care services, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while supporting high-quality patient care and efficient clinical operations.
The essential duties of the LPN are:
- Experience with surgical scheduling and insurance authorization processes. Document patient assessments, treatments, procedures, and physician instructions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system with accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain complete, compliant, and organized medical records in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and all applicable New Jersey privacy regulations
- Obtain and record vital signs, patient histories, medication reconciliation, and allergy information
- Prepare and update patient charts prior to scheduled appointments
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging orders, referrals, and follow-up care
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Support office workflow to promote efficiency and high standards of patient service
Requirements and Qualifications for the LPN:
- Prior experience in an Orthopedic practice preferred
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of New Jersey
- Knowledge of orthopedic terminology, conditions, and procedures
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong understanding of medical documentation standards and compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Hours for this position are either 8am to 4pm or 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The company offers generous benefits including Healthcare, PTO and more.
