Custom Manufacturer is seeking a Strategic Sales Executive to lead new business development for engineered systems product line. This is a hunter role for someone who thrives on building pipeline, engaging technical buyers, and closing high-value capital equipment opportunities.  You will operate independently in the field, supported by a strong engineering team, with direct input into how we grow.

What You Will Do Business Development

  • Identify and develop new opportunities within target markets and applications
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified, high-value opportunities
  • Establish relationships with key decision-makers at prospective accounts Sales Execution
  • Lead opportunities from discovery through proposal and close
  • Coordinate with engineering and internal teams to develop tailored solutions
  • Maintain ownership and consistent follow-up on all active opportunities Customer Engagement
  • Conduct on-site and virtual customer meetings on a regular travel cadence
  • Represent company professionally in all customer interactions
  • Develop long-term relationships that extend beyond the initial sale Internal Collaboration
  • Partner closely with engineering to scope and propose solutions
  • Support quoting and proposal development
  • Maintain clear, timely communication across teams

The Sales Executive will travel approximately every two weeks (2–3 days per trip) and office presence is expected when not traveling.

The Sales Executive will have:

  • Proven track record of new business development in a technical or capital equipment sales environment
  • Structured, disciplined prospecting — you work a system, not just a Rolodex
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex, application-based engineered solutions
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with technical and executive buyers
  • Comfortable managing long-cycle, high-value opportunities from discovery through close
  • High urgency, strong follow-through, and the ability to operate independently in the field
  • Experience with CRM tools and consistent pipeline documentation Reporting Structure
