Senior Accountant

Established children’s apparel company is seeking a Sr. Accountant to be a key member of the Finance team working to streamline and shorten the close and reporting cycle through the following:

• Perform accounting duties including, but not limited to: recording source journals, reconciling balance sheet accounts (including factored receivables), recording recurring and non-recurring journal entries, and recording major accruals
• Maintain fixed asset schedules for all individual legal entities
• Maintaining comparative schedules of key expenses for use in expense analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Complete routine filings for sales and use tax reporting, borrowing base submissions, and corporate censuses
• Validate individual trial balances prior to consolidation and ensuring intercompany transactions are matched accordingly
• Perform monthly consolidations of parent and subsidiary financial statements, including recording foreign currency transaction and translation adjustments, elimination entries, analyzing and enhancing corporate allocation entries, and maintaining consolidation working papers
• Contribute to the monthly close process by assisting in analyzing key areas, such as inventory, gross profit, receivables, and operating expenses
• Contribute to internal and external reporting by assisting in the preparation of detailed segment analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Ad hoc analysis as required 

The Sr. Accountant will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 10 years public and private experience dealing with multinational corporations, reporting and analysis required
• Wholesale manufacturing experience; COGS costing experience
• Apparel industry a plus
• A fundamental knowledge of general accounting and analytics
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and auditing standards, accounting policies and concepts
• Royalty reporting, Factor, Consolidations experience plus
• International and foreign currency translation experience plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft excel required
