Security Operations Manager

Our client, a leader in the transportation & Logistics industry needs a Security Operations Manager. This opportunity in North Bergen, NJ and will be a part of the company’s Security Operations team.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of security protocols and procedures.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our Client’s security operations, managing/training security personnel, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the organization, their employees, visitors, and assets. This Security Operations Manager will be working closely with the Director of Security and other departments to review, develop, and implement security policies, conduct risk assessments, and regular security audits. This is a critical role that requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and be ready to respond/handle any security incidents/emergencies on a timely manner.

Job Requirements for the Security Operations Manager:

  • Corporate Security Management Experience Required (3+ years).
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in Security and Safety, as well as Federal and State regulations.
  • High School Diploma Required; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (in Security Management, Criminal Justice).
  • Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates certification (Preferred).
  • Additional education in Security Administration or similar field preferred.
  • Computer Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experienced with training and managing team members, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, independent thinking.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License and transportation
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish (Preferred).
  • Must have flexibility to respond to emergencies as needed including overnights, weekends, and holidays

Job Responsibilities for The Security Operation Manager would include but not be limited to:

  • Oversee and manage all security operations, lead and mentor security personnel.
  • Internal Theft Investigations–Initiate and coordinate internal theft investigations and successfully bring them to a conclusion, ensuring the protection of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Conduct regular security rounds/surveillance of the properties throughout shifts (Day Shift and Night Shift as needed.)
  • Partner with other functions and officials throughout the company to develop, implement and enforce Security Policies and Safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in all locations ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Test and conduct preventive maintenance of all CCTV/Alarm/EAS systems.
  • Monitor and analyze security systems and technologies.
  • Help foster a culture of honesty through positive communications and messaging.
  • Maintain clear communication and relationships with security officers, vendors, clients, managers and officials throughout the company both verbal and written.
  • Analyze loss control and accident reports. Conduct internal investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare incidents reports and follow escalation protocol.
  • Prepare and present security reports to upper management.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits
  • Maintain a good understanding of core technology functions as it relates to physical security and stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8 am to 5:30pm or until finished. Candidates Must have flexibility to respond to emergencies as needed including overnights, weekends, and holidays.  Pay range for this position based on qualifications and experience is $75,000 – $78,000/yr.
