Business Development Manager

Well established special event turnkey production company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager, to drive sales through existing relationships and building new client relationships, to join their team.  The Business Development Manager will have an existing clientele portfolio and engage with prospective clients who are looking for unique ways to upscale their events.  The ideal candidate will have an established network of clients in the event community and knowledge of various venues in New York City.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Source new leads and generate sales
  • Hosting and conducting site visits often with multiple vendors/clients
  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries, and pending proposals
  • Ability to cultivate and solidify new business deals
  • Prepare and provide detailed weekly event reports including new leads, sales reports, financial reports directly for senior management
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified leads through networking and marketing activities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of event sales and/or event planning experience
  • Proven track record of meeting monthly sales goals and objectives
  • Highly professional written and oral communication skills required
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, be detail oriented, organized and maintain confidentiality
  • Must be proficient in in the following computer programs: MS Outlook, MS Word & MS Excel
  • Ability to perform under minimal supervision and work extended/irregular hours when needed
  • Providing exceptional customer service is a must
