Sr. Director, Store Planning & Construction

Sr. Director, Store Planning and Construction                       

This position will be primarily responsible for the design, planning, new construction, remodeling and ongoing maintenance of retail stores and home office facilities.  This position will work with the Real Estate Dept. to execute the annual store remodel and new store deployment plan and will be responsible for generating and executing to the capital expenditure budget and master scheduling of all store improvements and repairs.

  Train and supervise department members in the proper execution of store design, materials contract management and scheduling administration. Supervising, training and developing all construction managers and other field supervisors, to insure that maximum effectiveness in project construction and management is achieved. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supervising annually 75-100 mall specialty store real estate construction projects annually, in a corporate store design and construction dept. environment. Bidding, negotiating and managing retail store construction contracts. Strong familiarity with retail store general contractor practices, costs and approaches in building retail store. Working within a retail store company environment utilizing communication skills and project management skills. Strong skills with MS Office and MS Project software, with the ability to manage, track and report on construction projects utilizing computerized systems. Must be willing to travel.

Quality Control Supervisor

Chemical Manufacturer is looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join their team.  Develop, implement and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of  products (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals). Supervise a team of quality control chemists.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Supervise workers engaged in Quality Control and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with others to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company.
  • Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
  • Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
  • Maintain analytical equipment.

Education/Experience Desired

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry
  • Minimum 7 years related experience required

Job Description: 

  • Responsible for completing accurate technical packages and ensuring they are sent to vendors on time
  • Develop comprehensive graded specs, help determine grade tables and tolerances
  • Fill out specification sheets to send overseas makers for production, including grading
  • Work closely with buyers, account managers, designers and patternmakers to ensure proper fit of swimwear on live model or mannequin; inspect construction/workmanship
  • Provide detailed evaluation for each fit sample which may include pattern corrections, sketches, photos and fit comments to agents/vendors
  • Ensuring swimwear meets quality standards throughout production process
  • Communicate daily with international vendors and agents
  • Prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met
